Angela Adams, CEBS, SPHR
Human Resource Specialist
The Management Association of Illinois

Angela Blanton Adams provides affirmative action services including plan development and consultation for plan implementation. She also responds to a variety of human resource issues through the HR Hotline. Her prior experience includes several years as a paralegal at a law firm and at one of the nation's largest trade associations. She hold a Bachelor's degree in English from the University of Illinois at Urbana-Champaign and a paralegal certificate from Roosevelt University in Chicago. She also holds the Certified Employee Benefit Specialist (CEBS) designation from the International Foundation of Employee Benefit Plans.

Mike Byam is the author of The WOW! Workplace, and Managing Partner of the Terryberry Company, an organization that specializes in implementing, and managing employee recognition programs for employers worldwide. Mike is a frequent speaker on the topic of employee recognition to HR and business groups around North America. He has also consulted with hundreds of organizations - from family businesses to Fortune 500 companies - to develop recognition strategies for employee retention and performance improvement. When he is not busy championing the advancement of employee recognition awareness around the globe, Mike is an Ironman triathlete and multi-time marathoner. His experiences lend him a unique perspective on personal motivation and inspiration, and how they affect everyone in today's fast-changing workplace.


Lisa R. Callaway, JD, SPHR

Lisa R. Callaway assists employers with collective bargaining, arbitration, employment discrimination and general labor and employment law matters. She has litigated cases before the National Labor Relations Board, the EEOC, the Illinois Human Rights Commission, and federal and state courts. She frequently lectures on employment law issues and has co-authored several articles on sexual harassment and employment discrimination. She earned a Master's in Industrial Relations and was awarded a Juris Doctor degree from Loyola University.

At LinkedIn, Will focuses on enterprise clients in the Midwest. He designs talent acquisition and employment branding strategies that only LinkedIn, the largest professional network in the world could provide. These "disruptive" solutions are changing how organizations find top talent.


Mary Lynn Fayoumi, CAE, SPHR, GPHR

Mary Lynn Fayoumi is the President and CEO of The Management Association of Illinois, an employers' association that has been successfully providing human resources information and services to Chicagoland employers for more than a century.

Her special expertise ranges from human resource strategy to the wide spectrum of organizational effectiveness, human resources policy, current employment trends, workplace culture, people management, communication and leadership. Mary Lynn is a prolific writer, quoted and published regularly in a variety of local and national publications. Her weekly online business column is the most-read feature on the Association's web site.

Mary Lynn is a summa cum laude graduate of the University of Iowa with a Bachelor's of Business Administration in Industrial Relations/Human Resources. She also holds an MBA in International Management with Honors from the Thunderbird School of Management.


Kelly Hayden, JD

Kelly Hayden provides legal services and training to member organizations and also assists them with general labor and employment law compliance through the HR Hotline. Ms. Hayden's legal experience includes several years as an attorney for a prominent Chicago law firm, where she represented employers before state and federal courts and agencies. She earned her law degree from the Indiana University School of Law.

She comes to The Association with over 5 years of Human Resource, Training and Organizational Development experience in the real estate and legal industry. Lauren holds a Bachelor of Science from the University of Illinois in Urbana-Champaign.

Peter Steinmeyer is a Member of Epstein Becker & Green, P.C. in the Labor and Employment practice. He is co-chair of the Firm's Non-Competes, Unfair Competition and Trade Secrets Practice Group, and practices all aspects of labor and employment law. He has published numerous articles, including Rethinking Restrictive Covenant Enforceability in Illinois, Law 360, 10/09; Preventing the Misappropriation of Trade Secrets through Proactive Policies and Procedures, Labor & Employment Law, Vol. 46, No. 4, 5/09; and Drafting Enforceable Noncompetition Agreements in Illinois, Illinois Bar Journal, 4/1/09. He is a co-author of the blog TradeSecretsNoncompeteLaw.com and regularly teaches seminars and gives speeches on a broad range of issues involving the workplace. Susan Hoster-Suggs

Susan Hoster-Suggs has more than 23 years of public administration experience, including 13 years in parks and recreation with the Bolingbrook Park District. She previously served as the district's Director of Finance, Technology and Human Resources. Prior to joining the Bolingbrook Park District, Susan served as Finance Director for Orland Fire Protection District. Ms. Hoster-Suggs holds a Bachelor of Arts degree in Political Science from Lewis University.

Amy Traub is a Member of the Firm in the Labor and Employment practice in the New York office of EpsteinBeckerGreen. She is also a member of the Wage and Hour Subpractice Group Committee, the Hospitality Industry Focus Group, and the Workplace Violence Committee. Ms. Traub represents clients in all industries, including in the retail, health care, hospitality, and financial services industries. Ms. Traub represents employers in federal and state court, as well as before administrative agencies, on issues involving discrimination, harassment, retaliation, and other employment-related laws, including state and federal whistleblower statutes, Title VII of the Civil Rights Act of 1964, the Age Discrimination in Employment Act, the Americans with Disabilities Act, the Family and Medical Leave Act, the Fair Labor Standards Act, the Employee Retirement Income Security Act (ERISA), and related state and city laws. Debra Bachman-Zabloudil serves as President of The Learning Studio, Inc., education management and consulting firm. The company provides ongoing assistance with the education function of an association and also provides various consulting services related to association education, including the popular 360 Degree Educational Assessment â„¢ . All consulting work is done with an eye toward improving program quality, efficiencies and profitability. The Learning Studio also works in staff development, offering ongoing training to association staffs. Prior to launching this firm, Debra served as Director of Learning Experiences at the Association Forum of Chicagoland. Debra received her bachelor's degree in Speech Communications/Public Relations from Southern Illinois University, and her master's degree in Management of Public Service from DePaul University. She has earned her Certified Association Executive (CAE) designation and is a Fellow of the American College of Healthcare Executives.
