Survey conducted:  Biennially in late summer/early fall

The Management Association conducted this edition of this survey in cooperation with 18 other employer associations nationwide who are part of the Employer Associations of America (EAA). Both a National version and a Chicagoland version were produced with the Chicagoland version consisting of data from just the members of The Management Association. All co-sponsoring associations also sell their own local policies & benefits survey as a result of participation in this study.

2,300 organizations participated from 19 co-sponsoring associations nationwide.

San Diego; Oregon/Southwest Washington; Western Washington; Peoria area; Greater Chicagoland; Western IL, Eastern IA (Quad Cities); Northern Illinois; West Michigan Shoreline; Detroit; Minnesota; St. Louis Metropolitan; Wisconsin; Greater Cincinnati/Columbus; Northeast Ohio – Cleveland/Akron; Rochester; Central New York; Philadelphia; Central/Eastern NC; Florida

Common to both editions:

407 questions divided into nine major sections:

Health and Welfare Benefits; Retirement Benefits; Miscellaneous Benefits; Pay Practices; Working Conditions; Paid Time Off; Part-Time Employees; Recruitment, Training and Development; and Employee/Community Relations.

Report includes:

  • Executive summary of survey highlights with comparisons to the last survey 
  • Breakouts by employee group (union; non-union; non-exempt, clerical, technical; exempt professional, managerial)
  • Breakouts by company size by employee group
  • Total respondents data by employee group
  • Detailed topical index by subject
