Why is motivation so important?

An organization’s greatest asset is its employees, and having a highly motivated workforce is critical to organizational success. Before you can have a highly motivated workforce though, you need to have engaged employees!  So, how do you motivate  your high performers, your disengaged employees and those employees suffering from presenteeism?

This class will examine the role of a supervisor or manager in creating a positive work environment in order to improve morale and performance. Key motivational theories will be explored with an emphasis on realistic implementation strategies.

This is part four of a four-part Performance Management Series, including Coaching Your Employees, Counseling for Improved Performance and Performance Evaluation.

Classes may be taken individually or at a special price for the Performance Management Series.

Upon completion of this session, participants will be able to:

  • Identify common motivation myths and why they don't work
  • Explain the importance of motivation to job performance and retention
  • Explain needs that drive motivation
  • Identify strategies for self-motivation and for creating an environment that motivates others
