When administered thoughtfully, they offer practical tools for improving communication, strengthening teams, and supporting better hiring and leadership decisions.

Here’s a look at several common types of assessments.

DiSC® is a well-known personality assessment that helps individuals understand how they respond to conflict, what motivates them, what causes stress, and how they approach problem-solving and decision-making. By learning about their own style and the styles of others, employees can adapt their approach, strengthen communication, and build more productive working relationships.

CliftonStrengths® takes an asset-based approach, focusing on an individual’s natural talents rather than areas of weakness. By recognizing and developing these strengths, individuals can apply them more intentionally in their work. Benefits include greater awareness of employees’ unique “themes,” improved manager communication regarding strengths and blind spots, actionable development plans, and increased team productivity.

The Five Behaviors of a Cohesive Team® works by addressing the full spectrum of essential cohesive team behaviors. The experience acknowledges one’s humanity and enables each team member to recognize and embrace their shared imperfections by working through steps of trust, conflict, commitment, and accountability.

PXT Select® is a validated hiring and selection assessment designed to support smarter, more informed hiring decisions. It measures a candidate’s cognitive abilities, behavioral traits, and interests. The results provide clear, easy-to-understand insights and structured interview questions to strengthen the selection process. After hire, the tool can also support onboarding and coaching to set new employees up for success.

CheckPoint 360°® is a leadership-focused 360 assessment. The tool is designed for development – not evaluation – and gathers feedback from direct reports, peers, supervisors, and others. The resulting reports help leaders understand their effectiveness, identify growth opportunities, and strengthen leadership skills. By providing clear, actionable insights, the assessment encourages a culture of high performance. Both the individual being assessed and their supervisors receive data that guides leadership improvement.

Each assessment has its own purpose and application. You might use a single assessment or combine multiple tools depending on your goals. While no assessment can fully define a person, they can provide meaningful, data-driven insights into individuals, teams, and your organization.
