Conducting Effective Workplace Investigations

Conducting Effective Workplace Investigations

One of the most important jobs HR professionals have is conducting internal/workplace investigations. Properly and thoroughly done investigations will ensure a better work environment and minimize your organization’s legal liability. Yet, this is an area where HR professionals often have little training or experience. To address this gap, our attorneys have created this hands-on training to provide individuals with the tools, tips, and techniques they need to ensure they conduct thorough, fair, and impartial investigations and feel confident in handling these sensitive and complex employee issues. The session includes both a lecture/discussion portion and a case study for attendees to work through and discuss.

Attendees will leave this session:

  • Understanding the laws impacting internal investigations
  • Knowing how to prepare for witness interviews, including properly gathering and reviewing relevant evidence
  • Able to properly conduct interviews, including knowing what questions to ask and how to handle difficult witnesses
  • Able to properly document and assess investigative findings, including the credibility of witnesses
  • Knowing how to handle investigation results, including effectively communicating and acting upon their determinations

Please note: Lunch is included in this session
