How Does Your Sales Compensation Measure Up?

Competitive pay is important in maintaining a motivated sales force. Knowing what potential competitors pay their sales employees in your region or industry is a great way to keep that competitive edge. With that, we are excited to announce that the 2018 National Sales Compensation Survey is now available for download.
This year, a total of 840 organizations of varying sizes, locations, and industries provided 12,209 rates for 15 sales positions. Position breakouts include:
- Gross Sales Volume
- Customer Type
Compensation data for each position is reported in three types of sales compensation plans and as a total survey average:
- Base Salary Only – Pay plans which do not contain an incentive pay component
- Base Salary Plus Variable – Pay plans which include both a base rate and incentive pay
- Variable Pay Only – Pay plans in which all compensation is variable or incentive-based
- Combined Compensation Type – All compensation paid for all incumbents reported
Member participants receive the survey free of charge and should have received instructions on how to access the report last week. Non-participants can purchase the Sales Compensation Survey online.
