The Fair Labor Standards Act (FLSA) has been recently updated.  Now is the time for employers to review the exemption status of each position to ensure compliance with the new rule.

In this workshop, participants will take a hands-on approach to determine the appropriate classification of their job descriptions (exempt or non-exempt) under the FLSA.  After a review of the FLSA exemptions applicable in Illinois, we will discuss how to conduct an FLSA analysis and participants will work in small peer groups to analyze their own job descriptions.

As an attendee, please bring a few job descriptions to share for our group exercise.  Electronic format is required, as you will be asked to share your screen during this virtual meeting.   
 
At the conclusion of this program, participants will be able to:
    •  Describe the exemption tests under the FLSA.
    •  Identify complex exemption situations and the key differentiators when classifying positions.
    •  Apply FLSA regulations to determine the appropriate classifications for positions in their organization.
