The Employment Law Perplexity

I’ve been working in HR for a few decades, mostly in Illinois. Through the years, I’ve experienced some drastic changes in federal and state laws that were somewhat overwhelming – but the recent flurry of new laws and amendments in Illinois have my head spinning. My colleague, our Chief Legal Counsel Kelly Hayden, worded it well in her recent article when she said, “Governor Pritzker has his pen out and isn’t afraid to use it!”
At HR Source, our attorneys and the rest of our team are working hard to stay on top of these changes and keep you informed. Our weekly articles are a great place to keep up to speed. And when a critical issue arises, we don’t even wait for our weekly newsletter. Our team quickly puts information together and gets it to your inbox. We also present webinars to clearly explain and interpret the latest employment news.
AND, to make sure that you have first-hand access to current information, we host our annual Employment Law Conference! This year we’re focusing on:
- Inclusion and accessibility.
- FMLA basics and interesting cases.
- ADA accommodation strategies.
- Fair pay and pay transparency.
- Tricky terminations.
- Safeguarding your organization’s reputation.
- Artificial Intelligence - legal requirements and best practices.
- Employment Law Update. (It’s everyone’s favorite annual session!)
With the ever-changing tides in employment regulation, you don’t want to be washed over by an unexpected wave. Our presenters will give you information that’s relevant, practical, easy to understand and apply. If you’re like me, the most difficult part of the day will be deciding which of the sessions to attend. I suggest you bring a colleague or two to cover them all.
