135 Things Cooler than AI

I was a little disappointed when we hit the year 2000. I wasn’t taking my flying car to work or living in the fantasy world I wrote about in my grade school papers. But skip forward a couple of decades and it seems we’ve now leapfrogged the Jetson’s and moved right into the Star Trek/Terminator era.

People say, “Computer (or maybe “Siri” or “Alexa”), dim the lights.” BAM! The room darkens. “Alexa, how many hours worked in a year for a standard 40-hour work week?” 2080. Got ya!

These modern conveniences are great, but have you graduated yet to “ChatGPT, draft me a progressive discipline policy for my employee handbook”? A little scarier, right?

Scarier for many reasons: Does the Artificial Intelligence (AI) really know anything about employee discipline? Does AI know all the pertinent laws governing employee discipline? Does it understand the nuances of managing employees? And the big one: Where’s it getting its info, and who is it sharing mine with?
